Crisis preparedeness for decentralized water and wastewater systems in the Baltic Sea Region
active 1 month agoThe project aims to improve the resilience of decentralized water and wastewater systems in case of crisis. There is a great need of increasing the preparedeness of real estate owners in Swedish municipalities with big sparsely populated areas.
In the municipality of Norrtälje, located in the Stockholm region, there are about 30.000 real estates not connected to the municipal water network.
The project is going to dig into solutions for water provisions and for wastewater systems, look into the role of municipalities and investigate if private wells can be included in the water provision plan of municipalities.
As a result, the project will produce information material to inform the citizens that own decetralized water and wastewater systems about how to be equipped in case of crisis.
