Digi@hubs – CO2 reduction through digitalization at intermodal hubs
active 10 months agoThe development of multimodal logistics hubs for freight traffic where the deployment of cost-efficient intermodal transport, loading and digital systems enable the reduction CO2 emissions.
Our aim is to design on-line information and communication system for intermodal scheduling, service ordering and emission calculation. The digital system should be capable of utilizing existing services, include new features and be flexible and open for developers of new features in future.
The innovative mobility solution increases the efficiency of both the transport node, and the entire freight forward action. By reducing the waiting times and providing highly accurate on-line information combined along with flexible ordering system it not only increases efficiency but also improves service experience of customers of the node.
The project partners publish a report that list the best practises found in small transport nodes and discusses the applicability of the low-emission technology hardware solutions suitable for nodes. This will guide towards CO2 reductions after the project. The hardware solutions may cover both transport node and transport area logistics solutions.
The system will offer a basis and example for application developers in Baltic region.
We are looking for project partners in Estonia or Latvia especially multimodal ports or other freight traffic logistics hubs who would like to achieve CO2 reductions through digitalization and improved operational efficiency.
